Presented in May 2024 at Eight Athens
For Sourdough, the collective P_A_R_C curates three solo performances and one video screening that touch upon different manifestations of temporality: the tension between forgetting and remembering, between material decay and mnemonic trace, between subjective time and the timeless.
Applying a multidimensional shared methodology of auto-ethnography and performance research, four women share the performance space, bringing to the surface faint connections and associations.

1248–Transitions
Georgia Nikolaou
A personal ritual of passage inspired by the drawn-out musical tune entitled “Whose bride is this”, transforming the traditional wedding custom of the “kouloura tou gamou” (wedding bread ring) from Central Macedonia.

Both Breath and Clay. Fragments of a Ritual Prayer
Maria Konstanti / Marc Samper
A short film based on the poem “Inside Gardens: A Prayer Ritual in Seven Acts”. It is an exploration of the mythological motif of descent into the Underworld and the inner dynamics of intergenerational trauma.

Traces
Vassiliki Nomidou
Prompted by the renovation of the family house—which also marked its end—this performance seeks to investigate memory within space, while simultaneously searching for the mnemonic traces carried by the body.

Chitin – The Fabric of Time
Erato Tzavara
Quantum folding/unfolding temporality in dialogue with autobiographical time.
In the multimedia essay Chitin, the repeated movement of body–light–text attempts to create an elliptical accelerator of mnemonic images.
